Lagoon 2012!

Last week, Bryce’s company treated everyone to a day at Lagoon, our local amusement park. We had such a fantastic time! Easton got to spend the day with Grandma Brenda–we figured he would be much happier crawling around her house than riding in his stroller all day. This made it so that Bryce and I could go on lots of rides with the kids. We really had a blast! I was blown away by how Amelie and Calder were totally fearless. If they were tall enough to go on a ride, they rode it!

On the train. Bryce and I thought Calder's look was so classic. Love that boy!

The duo cruising around.

Amelie loved going on this big wooden roller coaster. It's one of my favorites, too. Don't look for us in the picture--just got this one online.

This was another fun one that both the kids loved. It twisted and turned just like you were getting sucked into a whirlpool or something. And it played Beach Boys music while we rode. Pretty fun!

The ferris wheel! I will admit, I am not super fond of heights. Roller coasters go so fast--you hardly even know how high you are. But this ferris wheel was high and sllloooow! They paused the ride a couple times while we were at the very top. I tried to hold it together for the kids, but I was dying a little on the inside.

The kids were oblivious to the height! They had a marvelous time!

The view from the wheel.

Calder collapsed 2 seconds after we got back to the car. A day of walking and riding exciting rides can do that to ya!

We just had such a great time. The lines were awesome (we walked right on to lots of rides), the day wasn’t too hot, and because HandStands was paying for our entrance and our dinner, it was cheap to boot! It’s fun having kids old enough to enjoy this kind of thing now. Last year, we just watched them do kiddie rides. This year was a totally different experience. Thanks, HandStands!

Pools and Fairs

Summer is officially in session. We’re having lots of fun at the pool, on the playground, and, last weekend, at the fair.

Swimming with Daddy. I'd like to actually teach these two how to swim this summer, but it's tricky with Easton. We'll get it figured out.

She looks so small surrounded by all that water. The kids love having a pool a 2-minute walk away!

So fun! On Monday, we get to go to Lagoon with Bryce's company and then in September we'll be hitting the fair of all fairs--Disney Land!

Fun abounds! Welcome to summer!

Milestone

Somebody around here has reached a new milestone. Easton?

Yes?

Do you know who I’m talking about?

Hmmm, let me think...

Any ideas?

Oh, I know! I know!

Yes, Easton?

It's me! I can stand up all by myself now!

That’s right, baby. Good job!

Bryce Hits the Big Time!

So, last week, Bryce got it in his head that he wanted to create 3D renderings of what the new iPhone might look like. He had seen some leaked images of various components of the new phone online and thought it would be fun to create a model of the phone. Really. This is the kind of stuff he does for fun. Well, little did he know how many people would be interested in his pet project! So far, his animation of the design has had around 420,000 views on YouTube since he posted it late Thursday night (that number as of 9 a.m. on Sunday) and his website with links to 76 images that he created has been slammed with traffic. We even had two local news stations at our house on Friday interviewing him! It has just been insane and exciting and exhilarating.

Go HERE to see the images, video, and his explanation of the project. Stay tuned because he will be posting an updated version of the video with some changes to the design based on new video and photos that have been released about the new iPhone.

Go HERE to see Bryce and Brad on ABC 4. We think you’ll especially enjoy the amazingly enthusiastic news anchor.

Go HERE to see the KSL 5 report. Not very long, but still kind of fun.

I am so proud of my sweetheart! I love that he had an idea, worked on it on his own time and often late into the night, and made it happen.
