Happenings

Well, life continues to be busy around here. 3 kids–I’d heard it would be hard, and, guess what? That’s true! But, of course, amazing and wonderful as well. My children are definitely teaching me the true meaning of patience, a virtue that I am forever working on. But that’s the whole point, right? To grow and change and become better? Anyway, here’s a look at what we’ve been up to.

Reading Charlotte's Web with Daddy. Bryce has made it a habit to read with the kids every evening and I love it. I think they're really enjoying it, too. What book should we read next I wonder?

This picture pretty much says it all. Amelie just adores Easton and still can't get enough of him. Calder? He could take him or leave him, probably. He's a good big brother, though. Always very sweet with Easton.

Easton is doing so great. Just had his 2-month check-up and he's gained 4 pounds since birth. I can't get enough of his sweet cooing and the little laugh that is just starting to emerge.

In other happenings, Bryce turned 30 on May 30th. We celebrated by going to a Rockapella concert. So much fun. I love those guys. I also gave Bryce a little gift every day during the week leading up to his birthdays. Foot scrubs and rubs, scalp massages, 30 reasons why I love him…you get the picture. I can’t believe I’m married to a man in his 30s!

And lastly, Bryce will be starting a new job on Monday. We’re excited and nervous and happy. I know he will do a great job and that it won’t take long for the company to realize what a treasure they have on their hands.

So, it’s been a great month! Looking forward to all that summer has to offer!

Smiles!

I love this day of newborn-hood: the first legitimate smiles! Smiles up until now have been unintentional. There’s something about these first smiles that just melt my heart. So in love!

Hi, Sweetheart! And I promise he isn't sunburned. The color's just off and I'm not very a very good photo editor.

Brother and Sister

These two have been pretty busy lately. Their days have been filled with preschool (for Amelie), lots of playtime together, and enjoying “Baby Easton” (as Calder always calls him).

Amelie in her darling new dress from Grandma Brenda. Excuse the wet hair look. She adores this dress and asks to wear it all the time.

Reading in Calder's crib. With lots of toys. Speaking of the crib, I don't know why we even have Calder sleeping in it anymore since he climbs in and out by himself. Maybe it's time for a toddler bed?

I’ll admit, going from two kids to three, or maybe just having a new baby in the house, has had its difficult moments and has been a major adjustment. Luckily, Easton is a doll–very “easy” as far as babies go. I’m just trying to learn how to juggle the needs of three children and actually get us places on time. But it gets easier every day and I’m grateful for the chance motherhood has given me to grow and improve.

A Feast of Cuteness

I love his little scaly hand. He was only a week old in these pictures and still had that newborn peeling.

A big thanks to my friend and neighbor, Mandi, for taking these great shots. I was amazed at how she was able to create an awesome lighting set-up just by moving some furniture around and taking advantage of our big windows. And it was all for free! I was lucky enough to win a contest on her blog. If you’re looking for a wonderful photographer (and you couldn’t work with a nicer person), get in touch with Mandi.
