2 weeks ’til D-day!

Well, we’re down to 2 weeks until my due date with this baby. And, just in case you’re wondering, we do have a name picked out and, no, we’re not telling 😉 We’re getting excited to meet our little one!

So, what do you think? Another 9 pounder in there? 🙂 I know it’s a little hard to compare with the different shirts…

Amelie’s 2nd Birthday Party!

September is turning out to be a busy month for our family. With the baby due this month, we’ll have three birthdays in September! We had lots of fun celebrating Amelie’s 2nd birthday–I can’t believe how much she has grown up and changed this past year. Where did my baby go? We celebrated with a small group of friends and family and enjoyed cake and the premier of the birthday video that Bryce and I put together for Amelie. She loves the video and has watched it countless times since the party. Here are some pictures of the big day.

Here's the cake I made and decorated. Bryce helped me come up with the design on the computer and then I tried to transfer it on to the cake. I was pretty pleased with how it turned out. It tasted good, too!

Amelie was thrilled to wake up from her nap and find a house full of balloons. And thanks Aunt Nicole and Claire for the terrific birthday banner!

She's was just as excited to play with the balloons the next morning and is enjoying the train that we got her.

Sometimes three balloons just aren't enough ;) And her birthday video was an instant favorite.

Raven’s First Decorated Cake

Here are a couple pictures of my first official decorated cake for the cake decorating class I’m taking. The class has been a lot of fun and I’ve learned a lot. I plan on taking more classes after this baby comes.

"Enjoy" is kind of lame, but I was running out of frosting :)

We learned how to make these roses tonight in class. They're hard!

The cake should be yummy, too. It’s a funfetti mix with three layers of raspberry filling. Not to mention the buttercream icing!

Camping fun with the Haymonds

Here are some more pictures from our camping adventures this summer. On July 24th (Pioneer Day for those of you not in UT), we spent the day with the Haymonds at Granite Flats, a camp site up American Fork Canyon. We went fishing, roasted marshmallows, and had fun with Angela and the boys. Amelie loved running around with Keian and Donovan.

Keian was a great big cousin, helping Amelie navigate around tree roots and rough terrain :)

And, as previously noted, one of Amelie’s favorite things about camping is playing in the dirt. I offer the following as evidence:

I think this was the dirtiest she's ever been. And loving every minute of it.

We had a fantastic time, so thank you to Mark and Brenda for hosting us and to Angela for the great pictures!

Toys

In the past couple of months, Amelie has become very attached to her toys. Her favorites? Tigger (that Aunt Bobby gave her for her first birthday–thanks, Aunt Bobby!), the baby doll Grandma Austin gave her for Christmas, and Woody. She went from sleeping with one doll at night to sleeping with an assortment of five plus toys every night (at least in her crib–she does fine without them when we’re away from home). It can get pretty ridiculous in there, but she loves them.

I spy five toys in this picture, but I suspect she might be lying on top of one or two.

In fact, she loves them so much that when she scraped her chin and needed a band-aid, she decided that Tigger and Woody needed band-aids, too. In the same exact spot, of course 🙂
